RFC Series Jaw Coupling

Product Overview

The RFC Series Jaw Coupling is a high-performance flexible coupling designed for reliable torque transmission with enhanced hub configuration. It is specifically suited for applications where direct mounting, compact integration, and secure shaft connection are required.

The Inter-linking hubs act as an additional safeguard, though the flexible element fails, the drive will be Maintained by the interaction of the jaws which are an integral part of the coupling hubs. The hubs are made of C.I. Jaws are unmachined.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Compact & Integrated Solution

Ideal for applications requiring close-coupled configurations.

  • No Metal-to-Metal Contact

Elastomeric spider prevents direct hub interaction, reducing wear, noise, and maintenance.

  • Maintenance-Free Operation

No lubrication required, ensuring clean and cost-effective performance.

  • High Misalignment Capability

Accommodates angular and parallel misalignment, reducing stress on connected components.

  • Excellent Shock & Vibration Damping

Absorbs dynamic loads and minimizes torsional vibrations, improving system stability.

  • Easy Installation

Flange mounting simplifies assembly and ensures precise alignment with connected equipment.

Construction & Working Principle

Components:
Manufactured from high-quality cast iron, Aluminium, and Steel.

Standard Metallic Hub (Mating Half)
Ensures a secure shaft connection on the opposite side.

Working Principle:
Torque is transmitted through the compression of the elastomeric spider between the jaws of the hubs. The flange hub enables direct mounting, while the elastomer absorbs shocks and accommodates misalignment, ensuring smooth and efficient power transmission.

Alignment is quickly achieved by simply placing a straight edge across the outside diameter of the hubs. No special tools are needed, requiring only a hexagon wrench for the locking of the taper bush.

Advantages
• Direct flange mounting reduces installation complexity
• Compact design for integrated systems
• Reliable performance with minimal maintenance
• Reduces the need for additional components or adapters
• Suitable for a wide range of industrial applications

Applications

Typical Applications
RFC Series Jaw Couplings are widely used in:
• Flywheel-driven systems
• Brake drum and pulley connections
